Working with you as an individual with a unique history, getting to know your story and what your goals are for yourself is incredibly important. This is treating the whole person. You are not your symptoms or your diagnosis. I view our work together as a partnership: whether you need a cheerleader, someone to hold you accountable or hold space for you to process, I trust the inherent wisdom of your body and your lived experience.

I work with patients to support both physical and mental-emotional health using a holistic approach. I treat conditions including digestive issues, endocrine problems, sleep disturbance, anxiety, depression, concentration difficulties and post-traumatic stress. I provide a compassionate environment for my patients, supporting nervous system balance and optimal healing. Therapeutic tools I use include nutrition, lifestyle recommendations, botanical medicine, nutraceuticals, psychopharmacology, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, somatic-centered counseling and mindfulness techniques.

I approach each patient as an individual, not as a diagnosis, and am skilled at meeting the patient where they are to help them move forward to balanced health. I take the time to get to know the person in front of me to develop a treatment plan that is the least harmful, most gentle, and most effective. I have realized that it is not a population or disease that I specialize in, but in listening to patients and working cooperatively to find the best treatment plan. My specialty is in constitutional homeopathy, but I use all naturopathic medicine tools and focus on women's health and children of all ages.

Dr. Heidi Codino (she/her/hers) has completed extra trainings in LGBTQ+ healthcare as well as gender affirming care. “Feeling that your presenting features match your identity is very important to your physical, emotional, and mental health”. She wants all her patients to feel whole and happy with who they are. She specializes in minor surgery, LGBTQ+ health, IV therapy, pelvic floor therapy, physical manipulations, pediatrics, pregnancy, postpartum, fertility, chronic pain, and oncology, as well as seeing primary care patients of all ages.

I guide those seeking optimal health and holistic approaches to health concerns through patient centered care, treating the whole person and not just a set a symptoms. With empathy, uncondintional positive regard, innovative personalized treatment plans and cutting edge Naturopathic methods, I partner with you to look and feel your best.

Each patient is an individual and as such, requires treatments that are customized for them. Especially in chronic disease, which is where naturopathic medicine and acupuncture help greatly, taking one magic pill or supplement will not resolve symptoms. Success depends greatly on recognizing what dietary changes, behavioral therapies, and lifestyle modifications the patient is willing to try in order to achieve overall health. I work collaboratively with people to not only identify what is causing their symptoms, but more importantly, identify what roadblocks are preventing them from achieving wellness and explore what treatments they want to try.

I practice primary care medicine and have additional training in women's health, physical and sports medicine, and pain management. I see patients for preventive care, including full health check-ups, and also work with women's health issues, autoimmune diseases, pain, weight challenges, and allergies, utilizing physical medicine modalities, diet and lifestyle recommendations, counseling, and allergy testing and treatment.

A patient who would be served by me is both curious and motivated about his/her body and return to best health. I enjoy sharing what I know and creating an atmosphere of respect with some levity. You do not need to fit into the medical description of a condition for me to be able to offer care and I spend a lot of time listening to your story to better understand you and your conditions. My tool bag is huge and full of possible options; we can find the treatment plan best suited for you as we work together.

I am certified in the BioTE Bioidentical hormone replacement technique. I am proud to be the first doctor in the immediate Seattle area to be certified in this amazing company.This complements my naturopathic approach allowing me to best address age management issues. Many patients are dealing with peri menopausal symptoms, or andropause as a man, and want to balance their hormones, optimizing, energy and sexual function.

Avana Natural Health is the home of natural medicine care for the whole family. I hold doctorate degrees in both conventional (MD) and natural medicine (ND). I am a board-certified naturopathic physician in Oregon and an active member of American Association of Naturopathic Physician. In addition, I am certified in Classical Homeopathy, Bowen technique therapy, Korean Hand Therapy, Auricular Therapy and Medicine and Advanced Ozone Therapy.
