I do best working with people who are willing to take a proactive approach to their healthcare. So much of what I do involves being a detective, trying to discover the underlying reason for health challenges and the root cause of illness. Most people want to get relief from their suffering —understandably so! While this is definitely a goal, I enjoy working with people who also want to optimize their health and to prevent illness in the future.

Avana Natural Health is the home of natural medicine care for the whole family. I hold doctorate degrees in both conventional (MD) and natural medicine (ND). I am a board-certified naturopathic physician in Oregon and an active member of American Association of Naturopathic Physician. In addition, I am certified in Classical Homeopathy, Bowen technique therapy, Korean Hand Therapy, Auricular Therapy and Medicine and Advanced Ozone Therapy. I am currently licensed as naturopathic physician (ND) in both Oregon and Washington state.

A 1992 Bastyr University grad, Dr Forwell offers a wealth of experience from her 29 years in naturopathic primary care. She is a pioneer of Regenerative Injection Therapies employed to treat pain from injury & overuse. Chronic sprains & strains, osteoarthritis etc are treated with these needling techniques referred to as Prolotherapy, PRP and embryonic Stem Cells as well as Mesotherapy & Neural Therapy. She was a founding board member & instructor at the Naturopathic Academy of Therapeutic Injections, has advanced training from the American Association of Orthopaedic Medicine & conducts doctor training courses around the country.

I look beyond the labels often associated with long term illness to identify the physiological factors that allowed illness to manifest. I work cooperatively with my patients and colleagues to create custom treatment plans that largely focus on specialized treatment modalities including neural therapy techniques, intravenous therapies, botanical medicine and functional nutrition. I emphasize education to empower my patients to make informed decisions about their health.

I have a growing practice of all ages. I enjoy working with people to unravel the symptoms they are experiencing. I've found that often the symptoms we are experiencing aren't always directly related to the area in the body with the dysfunction. Sometimes we have to treat several different parts of the body in order to treat our symptoms in other areas. The modalities I use not only work to treat the cause of the problem, but they also help the body to heal itself, which are two of the foundational principles of naturopathic medicine.

I work with patients to determine underlying factors that may be involved with the creation of their particular disease, or inhibition of their general wellness. My practice has a strong focus on the treatment of complex chronic disease, as well as optimizing health in those whose goal is increased vitality and the prevention of future illness. I also enjoy working with those who are planning to become pregnant to optimize fertility and create wellness for both parents and their children.

Dr. John has been in practice for 25 years, having earned his doctorate degree in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in 1998. After working for two years with a Medical Doctor, he opened The Natural Health Medical Clinic in 2000 on Beacon Hill, just South of Downtown Seattle. He specializes in treating pain and injuries, as well as treating a wide range of health conditions such as diabetes, chronic fatigue, poor immune function and hypthyroidism. Areas of special study include hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) which stimulates stem cell production, ozone therapy, homeopathy, herbal medicine, neural therapy, prolozone, PRP.
