After completing medical school at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and working for 10 years as a licensed physical therapist, I opened Synergy. My goal was to combine the best aspects of standard medicine with the benefits of natural and preventative medicine. Since then, I've treated many patients with all kinds of health problems - from simple colds and infections, to cancer and medical conditions that MDs have not been able to resolve. Dr. Shu earned her medical degrees at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, Arizona, and the China Medical University, Taiwan, in 1995. Dr. Shu is a licensed naturopathic doctor, and is certified in Orthopedic Prolotherapy with Platelet Rich Plasma injections via American Osteopathic Association of Prolotherapy Integrative Pain Management. Dr. Shu is also certified in Aesthetic Medicine via American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.

Doctor Birch practices at Purety Family Medical Clinic, an integrative health center based in Santa Barbara. She provides a comprehensive knowledge of revolutionary healing solutions for acute and chronic disease, as well as longevity and preventive medicine. Her passion is to provide an individualized approach for patient-centered care. Helping patients reach their health goals is an absolute honor for her. She thoroughly enjoys working with patients of all ages and building relationships with them. She has undergone extensive board examinations to become certified as a Naturopathic Doctor and licensed in the state of California as a primary care doctor.

Doctor Birch practices at Purety Family Medical Clinic, an integrative health center based in Santa Barbara. He is so grateful to have the opportunity to positively impact his patient's lives by focusing on the gifts of nature to direct their own body's innate ability to heal. It is his passion to offer his patients the best that Natural and Western medicine has to offer while tailoring his treatment to what works best for them. Josel Dauz, ND, is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor in the state of California. Finding the root cause is a passion of Dr. Dauz, and she is devoted to giving her patients holistic, individualized, and compassionate care. Dr. Dauz believes in collaborating with her patients and carefully listening to their stories to find their wellness journey. She is trained in General Medicine with specialties in Women’s Health, Fertility, Pediatrics, Hormone balancing, Oncology support, Cardiovascular health, Genetic counseling, Functional Medicine, Anti-aging, Regenerative medicine/Pain management, Facial Rejuvenation, and Chinese Medicine.

Dr. Vaughn believes that it’s essential to identify and treat the root cause(s) of symptoms to allow the innate healing mechanisms inherent within the mind, body, and spirit to regain optimal function and balance. She encourages patients to engage in their care, while she strives to educate and empower patients with the information they need to make informed healthcare decisions that align with their values and lifestyle. Dr. Vaughn is a board-certified Naturopathic Doctor with a Masters in Classical Chinese Medicine. She is also a licensed clinical laboratory scientist with an emphasis in Microbiology and stem cell therapies.
