Dr. Cist received her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in 2004. She received her Bachelors in Science and Engineering from Princeton University in 1980. Having completed a residency at the Brain Therapeutics Medical Center, she opened and ran The Dorothea Clinic in 2006. Dr. Shu earned her medical degrees at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, Arizona, and the China Medical University, Taiwan, in 1995. Dr. Shu is a licensed naturopathic doctor, and is certified in Orthopedic Prolotherapy with Platelet Rich Plasma injections via American Osteopathic Association of Prolotherapy Integrative Pain Management. Dr. Shu is also certified in Aesthetic Medicine via American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.

I received my doctorate in naturopathic medicine from The Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in 2011. Studying at BINM provided me with the opportunity to be exposed to a variety of specialty treatments, including the use of ozone, prolotherapy and IV therapies. In addition, I had the privilege of receiving formal medical training in oncology by Dr. Neil McKinney, one of the leading naturopathic doctors in naturopathic oncology. In 2012, I joined Synergy Natural Medicine Clinic in Monrovia, CA, to become a specialist in naturopathic oncology. In March, 2016, I redesigned a small clinic and we have been growing ever since!
