Hello - My name is Dr. Matthew Cavaiola. I am a naturopathic doctor who specializes in integrative oncology (cancer), hormonal imbalances (adrenal fatigue, thyroid, menopause, low testosterone) in both men and women and I use natural treatments for autoimmune disease, diabetes, heart disease, and low back, knee pain, shoulder pain, elbow pain, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Dr. Barker graduated from Bastyr University in Seattle and was an Associate Professor of Clinical Studies at the University of Bridgeport School of Naturopathic Medicine in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He was named Doctor of the Year by the California Naturopathic Doctors Association in 2015 and 2023. TV appearances include Veria's "Naturally Delicious," KVCR's "It's Your Call" and PBS' "American Health Journal" series about Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Barker is a primary care doctor who treats both children and adults.

I graduated from Bastyr University, completed a residency at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health, and have been in a busy private practice for the last 23 years. I provide adjunctive care in a virtual setting to patients undergoing conventional cancer treatment. The customize treatment plans created for my patients significantly reduces side effects and increase effectiveness of chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation therapy.

At this point in my practice, most of my focus is spent on working with patients with chronic illnesses, like cancer. I also work with patients with digestive issues, men's health issues and other health conditions. I utilize an integrated approach, including behavior modification, counseling, botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, vitamin, mineral and enzyme optimization and intravenous (I.V.) therapy. Although I see many patients for fine tuning and health optimization, I also accept the challenge of working with people with very difficult medical issues, especially folks with issues that conventional medicine has very little to offer.

Dr. Shu earned her medical degrees at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, Arizona, and the China Medical University, Taiwan, in 1995. Dr. Shu is a licensed naturopathic doctor, and is certified in Orthopedic Prolotherapy with Platelet Rich Plasma injections via American Osteopathic Association of Prolotherapy Integrative Pain Management. Dr. Shu is also certified in Aesthetic Medicine via American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.
