In order to help my patients, I need to know their story. Health problems don't start the first time that a person has a pain, or the first night of insomnia. They started well before that first bout. For example, the problem started long before one develops IBS: IBS is a symptom of the problem. That is why it is so important to take a full history--not just current things but things that may have begun in childhood. So what I do is to listen and ask questions and listen. Once we are both satisfied, we can develop a plan--the goal of which is to help you reach YOUR best state of health.
As a naturopath, I want to find out when your issue started, did something happen that triggered your situation? What have you done so far to handle the situation? Has anything helped? What makes it worse? Often I use alternative testing to help get to the cause of the problem
